Orange County Kitchen Company Philosophy

“You can get almost anything you want in life if you’ll just help enough other people get what they want.”

I don’t recall where or when I first heard the above statement or even if I have recalled it accurately, but I have embraced the principle it conveys, and continue to consider it foundational to building a successful enterprise.

The kitchen design and remodeling business is like so many others in that it is not much about the commodity being offered and very much about the persons doing the offering.

We opened a retail kitchen cabinet store in Orange County not because there were too few sources for kitchen and bathroom cabinets, already in existence here but because we felt that most of the options people had when they wanted to remodel their kitchen were not good choices.

On one end of the choice spectrum were the “big box” stores and outlets that seemed to work alright for contractors and sophisticated “do it yourselfers” but provide little if any assistance for the typical homeowner.

On the other end of the spectrum were the custom design/cabinet “boutiques” and “full service” contractors who were capable of providing all sorts of assistance, but for a “king’s ransom”.

In between were the handymen, small contractors, corner cabinet shops and a swelling swarm of “re-facing experts”.

We believed there was a need in southern Orange County for a company that could offer kitchen design and planning assistance, provide and or orchestrate various types of remodeling and sell kitchen and bath cabinets at a price people in the area could justify and afford.
